Confirmation

A blockchain network signal that a transaction has been included in a block. Some merchants wait for multiple confirmations before fulfilling an order.

Webhook

A server-to-server notification used to update order status. Webhooks should be validated, logged, and handled idempotently.

Settlement

The process of receiving, converting, or withdrawing payment funds after a customer transaction.

Custody

The question of who controls the private keys for funds at a given point in the payment flow.
